    • Osteoarthrosis:  this is a degenerative disease of the joints (articular cartilages), the structures most exposed to mechanical stress. The pathological process involves all tissues and causes a global functional decompensation. Arthrosis may be primary, when no triggering cause can be found or secondary, due to traumatisms,  dismetabolisms, endocrinopathies, neuropathies, haematological diseases. The symptoms are pain, muscular contracture and limitation of joint movements.

  • Extra-articular rheumatisms
    • Rheumatoid arthritis: an autoimmune chronic inflammatory disease. It mainly strikes the joints but can also affect the system with haematological, neurological, respiratory and cardiocirculatory manifestations. The maximum incidence is between 30 and 70 years of age, with a peak between 40 and 50. Symptoms are pain, stiffness, swelling, reddening, heat and functional impotence especially of the hands, feet and wrists.
    • Fibrosis of a rheumatic origin
    • Lumbago: this is a complaint that strikes about half the population due to arduous professional duties, standing, traumatisms, postural defects and pregnancies. The main symptom is pain, sometimes with a sense of numbness, mainly in the lumbar region. The pain is more intense in the morning and is worsened by intense physical activity, changes in the weather, a sedentary lifestyle, hypo-activity and the premenstrual and menstrual period.
