Thermal mud is a natural product from the mixture of sulphurous water containing bromide and iodide salts with clay. This mixture acquires its properties and can be used for treatments only after a long maturation.
Its high capacity of retaining heat is fundamental during application and has a calming, pain-relieving effect that improves the recovery of the joint and muscular functions. For this reason, the mud is recommended as an additional therapy in osteoarticular, rheumatological and dermatological diseases, and is particularly effective in the treatment of psoriasis.
The presence of fundamental trace elements such as calcium and strontium, aids the production of calcium in the bones, a fundamental quality in cases of osteoporosis and difficult to find in other types of thermal mud.
THE BENEFITS OF FANGOTHERAPY
Fangotherapy uses an action mechanism that works on three levels:
At the physical level, the thermal action of the mud applied at 45-47°C promotes vasodilation and, as a consequence, improved blood circulation in the whole body, including the joints.
At the chemical level, the mineral waters the mud acquires during maturation in the thermal water take effect. The high content of sulphur acts directly on the tissue of the joints, slowing cartilage degeneration and improving its functionality.
At the microbiological level, the presence of Cyanobacterium Aponinum inside the mud makes it extraordinarily effective in the treatment of psoriasis, osteoarticular and rheumatic diseases.
